Francisco Brito Cruz

Executive Director

Director at InternetLab. He holds a PhD and a master’s degree from the University of São Paulo School of Law (FDUSP). He also earned his law degree from the same institution. He was a visiting student researcher at the Center for Study of Law and Society at the University of California – Berkeley (2013) and he won the “Marco Civil Internet and Development” Award at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas Law School (SP).

He founded and coordinated the Center for Law, Internet and Society at the University of São Paulo (NDIS-USP, 2012-2014, 2016-2019). He is also a lawyer and member of the Electoral Law Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association – São Paulo Section (2019-). He is co-author of the books “Sobrevivendo nas Redes: Guia do Cidadão” (Moderna, 2018), “Direito Eleitoral na Era Digital” (Literacy, 2019) and “A Internet no banco dos réus” (IASP, 2017) and author of the book “Novo jogo, velhas regras” (Letramento, 2020).
