The InternetLab Journalism School: “Telling the Stories of the Future: Journalism and Internet Policies” was an intensive two-week course for 20 Latin American journalists, focusing on investigative journalism techniques and internet policies.

The first edition of the school, held in April 2017, was structured around three thematic axes: (1) understanding the conflicts (internet, politics, stories, trends); (2) how to tell stories? (database fundamentals, leaks, fact-checking); and (3) considering the effects (big data, filter bubble effect, engagement, security).

These axes were addressed throughout the various activities of the school, which discussed topics such as internet governance, data journalism techniques, cybersecurity, privacy, surveillance, freedom of expression, copyright, and violence and discrimination on the internet, among others.
